What is the Best Juicer for Beginners? 2

Sharing is caring!

If you are just starting out juicing, I am sure you are pretty confused right now.  What with centrifugal juicers, single gear juicers or twin gear juicers, wheatgrass juicers, citrus juicers etc., there are a lot of things you probably think you need to know before you could possibly make that decision.

Usually when I want to buy something, I’ll ask an opinion from a friend how knows a little more about it than I do.  That is where I can help you with juicing.  I can tell you what I think is the perfect juicer for YOU, and I can do it in just a couple of minutes.

NOTE: After watching the video, you can see our recommended juicers for beginner at the end of this page.

I only need you to answer a couple of questions.

Here is a brief overview of the questions I need to ask.  We’ll go through each of these points in detail below.

An Assumption

I’ll make one assumption here.  The assumption is is that as someone new to juicing, you want the most versatile juicer you can afford.  You want a juicer that will give you the best experience juicing fruits, vegetables and other fresh produce.  A juicer that will give your health a big boost.

You see, there are juicers that are specifically for juicing citrus fruits (lemons, oranges, limes, etc).  I’ll assume you don’t want one of those.

There are also juicers that are specifically for juicing wheat grass and I guess you don’t want one of those either.  These types of juicers are just too limiting for those just starting out.  You need a multipurpose juicer.

So, let’s find you the perfect juicer for a beginner.

First question is about budget.

If your budget is is over $100, skip to the next section on “How Much of a Hurry are you in”.

If your budget is under $100, then this is an easy one to answer (and don’t worry, there are excellent juicers in your price range).  If you have less than $100 to spend, you need to get our recommended budget slow juicer which would be my own choice, or one of the more popular centrifugal juicers.

How much of a Hurry are you in?

OK, now we have established you have a budget above $100 and we can look for a better juicer.

There is another choice though.

You can buy a good quality juicer that is faster to make the juice, but you’ll be balancing the speed at which you make the juice with the quality of the juice produced.

e.g. For a faster juicer, you need a centrifugal juicer.  However, the quality of the juice will not be as good as a masticating juicer which preserves more of the nutritional elements.

A masticating juicer, while producing better quality juice, will take a little longer because all of the fruit and vegetables need to be chopped up into smaller pieces, and fed into the juicer at a slower rate.

Your next choice then, is do you want the fastest juicer, or the one that makes the best juice?

So here is what you need to weigh up:image

I have used both types of juicers and there is a notable difference in the taste, with the masticating juicers not only producing better tasting juice, but also higher yields of juice.

My personal recommendation would be to go for the better quality juice and a masticating juicer, but you know your schedule better than I do Winking smile.

So it’s decision time…

Answer the question in the diagram above, and you have chosen your ideal juicer.  Either a high end centrifugal juicer (faster, time-saving) or a single/twin gear juicer (for better quality juice, though longer preparation time).

Below you can see my recommendations for both types of juicer.

Best Centrifugal Juicer

For those that have finally decided on the faster juicing of a centrifugal juicer, the best juicer is the budget priced, great value Aicok Slow Masticating Juicer Extractor (a 1000W dual speed motor and stainless steel cutting blade. It's also dual speed for added versatility) or the Hamilton Beach Big Mouth Pro (with an 800W,  1.1HP motor and stainless steel cutting blades). These juicers benefits from the extra wide mouth, meaning you don't have to cut your fruit and vegetables so small.

Best Single/Twin Gear Juicer

For those that have gone with the better juice quality over preparation time, congratulations.  You won’t be disappointed.   Juice really does taste better with one of these juicers.

I will recommend two juicers here.  The first is a reasonably priced juicer and perfect for beginners, and the second is the one I would buy if money was no object.

My recommendation for best single gear juicer for beginners is the Aicok Slow Masticating Juicer Extractor.  This is a really versatile single gear juicer that will make all types of juices, including leafy vegetables, grasses, herbs as well as nearly any fruit and vegetable you through at it.  Don't worry if you don't know what single gear means.  Essentially though you'll get better tasting, more nutritious juices and a machine that is easier to clean than a centrifugal juicer.superangel

If money is was no object, there is only one juicer that I would buy.  It’s the Super Angel Pro Stainless Steel Juicer.  It’s a beautiful twin gear juicer made entirely of stainless steel.  It will juice just about anything and will last a very long time, while also looking great in your kitchen.

This would be wonderful, except all the juicers you recommended are over $100, and you first question was whether you wanted to spend over $100. If you had recommended a juicer under a $100 for those of us that say we had a small budget, this would have been much more informative.
