Can Chocolate Reduce Risk of Stroke?

Sharing is caring!

New research is offering chocolate lovers a new reason to continue eating their favorite sweet.

Men who eat chocolate every week may be less likely to suffer from a stroke.  While this is not necessarily new, the fact that this study suggested milk chocolate (and not just the dark chocolate) was also beneficial.

Chocolate contains flavonoids that are excellent antioxidants that can protect the heart.  Be aware thought that flavonoids are also available in many plants, so chocolate is not the sole source Winking smile

The study doesn’t recommend running out and buying lots of chocolate, however.  There are some much healthier ways to reduce your risk of stroke.  But, it does suggest that a little bit now and then is good for your heart (in particular the dark chocolate).
