Papaya & Orange

Sharing is caring!

This is a simple recipe, but needs a juicer and a blender since Papaya don't juice very well.  It is however, very refreshing and packed with nutrients and antioxidants.

Ingredients

  • 3 large oranges
  • 1/2 a medium sized papaya

Juice the oranges in your juicer (a citrus juicer is absolutely fine for this).

Add the orange juice and papaya (skin removed and chopped into cubes) into a blender and whizz up until smooth.  You might like to add cracked ice to your blender, or just water to thin out the juice which can become a little thick.

The Papaya is a good source of vitamins A & C, folate and potassium, but it also contributes fibre to the drink (which is why it can become thick and need watering down).  Papaya is also rich in papain, a digestive enzyme that may help with digestion, reduce inflammation and help with wound-healing.

Oranges further boost the vitamin C & antioxidant content of this juice, but also support additional phytonutrients which can help with healing.
